ERIN MCKEOWN PERFORMING FOR THE BIRDS! GULF CLEAN-UP BENEFIT AUG 29 IN NYCRighteous Babe Erin McKeown joins Ira Glass, Rachel Maddow, Eugene Mirman, Lucy Wainwright Roche and many more special guests on Sunday, August 29 at Town Hall in New York City for a very special evening of comedy and music to benefit the ongoing clean-up in the Gulf. Erin will perform a short set in addition to debuting a new song written with Rachel Maddow specifically for the night! Proceeds benefit the American Bird Conservancy to support their work cleaning up after the BP Oil Spill in New Orleans.

ANI DIFRANCO LIVE WEBCAST JUNE 24On Thursday, June 24 Ani will perform a rare live webcast from the soundstage of Ex’pression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville, CA. The concert will be available free for all to view on creativeallies.com at 8pm PST. The half-hour session will be the perfect appetizer for catching Ani live in the flesh as she embarks on a couple of tour dates in June – but as you will notice on the tour schedule righteousbabe.com/tour the shows are few and far between as Ani takes a little time off from the road so catch her where you can!

ANI JOINS HOST TIM ROBBINS AT THE ROOTS OF MUSIC BENEFIT THIS SATURDAYThis Saturday, May 29 Ani will perform a couple of songs at the Roots of Music benefit, hosted by actor Tim Robbins at the Republic in the Warehouse District of New Orleans. Ani joins Rebirth Brass Band, Jon Cleary, Preservation Hall Jazz Masters and more to raise money for The Roots of Music providing Marching Band performance and music education free to low-income New Orleans Middle School students. ANI JOINS LENNY KRAVITZ, MOS DEF AND MORE FOR “GULF AID” IN NEW ORLEANS THIS SUNDAYA long list of incredible musicians, including Ani DiFranco, are donating their talents to "Gulf Aid" this Sunday, May 16 from 12noon to 10pm at Mardi Gras World River City in New Orleans. Ani joins Lenny Kravitz, Mos Def, Allen Toussaint, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and many more in a benefit concert organized by WWOZ’s David Freedman and pianist David Torkanowsky, raising money to help efforts to contain the BP oil spill, one of the largest oil spills in history. Tickets are $50, available here, and all proceeds go to Gulf Aid, a 501(c3) nonprofit corporation, who will distribute the funds to organizations to help protect the wetlands, as well as for fishermen and their families.
For folks outside of the New Orleans area, WWOZ plans a live broadcast; details to be posted on their website here. Donations can be sent to: Gulf Relief Foundation, PO Box 6917, Metairie, LA 70009.

CELEBRATE RECORD STORE DAY WITH A LIMITED EDITION ANI DIFRANCO RELEASEOn April 17, 2010 thousands of independent record stores across the world will celebrate the art of music…and Righteous Babe Records is happy to join in the celebration by releasing a limited edition Ani DiFranco CD, Live at Bull Moose Music.
Now in its third year, Record Store Day celebrates the independent business spirit of local record stores, a place where music fans can hear new music and discover old gems. In this digital, disconnected age, Record Store Day hopes to strengthen the community and those connections between music fans with a physical experience – a day to hit the store and see a special performance or purchase a special release by an artist.
Live at Bull Moose Music is the first release from any artist who has performed previously at a Record Store Day event. While on tour last spring, Ani DiFranco took time out to be interviewed by WCLZ radio and play at Bull Moose Music in Portland, Maine – the in-store performance was her first in over a dozen years! The rare event was captured on tape and will be available in independent record stores nationally on April 17 – this year’s Record Store Day. In addition to her interview, the CD features four live tracks, including the brand new, unreleased track, “Unworry”.

ANI’S SPRING TOUR STARTS APRIL 8Ani and the band are loading up the tour bus again starting in the Lone Star State on April 8 and looping around the US till they are back in The Big Easy on May 1. This tour features fellow Righteous Babe artist, performance poet Buddy Wakefield through April 26.
For the complete list of shows check out righteousbabe.com/tour. And don’t hesitate to get your tickets in advance - the 4/18 Omaha performance is sold out and for the rest of the year the shows will be very few and farther between, so make sure to catch her while you can!
