Ani DiFranco: Verses, Ani’s first book of poetry published in the United States, is the ultimate collection of Ani poems and paintings, spanning the years 1990-2006. Ani has never shied away from tackling the tough issues at hand, and in today’s world where freedoms are being taken almost as fast as they are being claimed, her personal-is-political viewpoint is more relevant than ever.
A beautifully-bound hardcover edition, covering 112 pages, Verses presents a selection of poems, some of which have never before appeared in print, as well as 12 full-page illustrations of original artwork. Also includes an introductory “conversation” between Ani and the late political poet, fellow Righteous Babe, and dear friend Sekou Sundiata.
