Gascd is now available on righteousbabe.com. It's a thought-provoking compilation that brings together a diverse group of artists with like political visions, including Ani, Barenaked Ladies, The Tragically Hip, Michael Franti, Bill Frisell and many others. All proceeds from the double-CD will go to help the legal defense of protestors imprisoned during the Quebec Summit of the Americas, where discussions were taking place regarding the creation of the FTAA (the Free Trade Area of the Americas).

Outside the Summit, police attacked tens of thousands of lawful protesters with a constant shower of tear gas and rubber bullets, arresting 463 people in the process.

The FTAA will effectively increase privatization and deregulation in the Americas, giving transnational corporations even more of a stranglehold on governments. For more info on gascd, notes from protesters and links to other activist sites, head on over to www.gascd.com.
