This trip was organized by the United States Campaign for Burma to raise international awareness about the struggle for freedom in Burma and create support for Aung San Suu Kyi, currently the world’s only imprisoned Nobel Peace Prize recipient. For The Lady, a benefit CD including Ani’s “In the Way”, will be released on October 26, 2004, and all proceeds will go to the United States Campaign for Burma. According to the CD press release, singing a freedom song in Burma can result in a seven-year prison sentence.
