NEW VENUE IN MADISON, WISCONSIN TRIES TO CHARGE FOR VOTER REGISTRATION

The new Overture Hall in Madison, where Ani played last night, charged the promoter $125.00 for each voter registration and information table that was set up in their expansive lobby. In over fifteen years of touring, thousands of not-for-profit groups have set up information tables at Ani's shows. This is the first venue that has ever charged a fee for this. Hopefully, it will be the last. Ani was vocally displeased about this turn of events, and told the crowd as much. You can read about it here, in the Capital Times review of the show. While Ani stopped short of giving out theater management's email addresses, we won't. Here they are: rlienau@overturecenter.com (Rudy Lienau, Director of Theatre Operations and Facilities) and president@overturecenter.com (Bob D'Angelo, President and CEO).
